Holidays, warm weather and water
The reservoir, Pantà d’Oliana, is almost at 80% of its capacity. So now it’s a very good choice to go out with kayak. In July and August, it is sunny and hot in the Pyrenees of Lleida, and it makes you want to get in the water! Add the availability of people for kayak in July and August.
Good water level
What had failed so far was water in reservoirs in general due to drought. We have always been able to navigate in the Pantà d’Oliana, but we must recognise that at the current level it is much more practical to embark and develop activities.
Variety of landscapes and destinations
The Segre now flows into still waters near the bridge Pont d’Espia. So this very attractive area is visitable, in addition to the canyon Congost dels Esplovins and the Sallent River estuary. Some banks are flatter and green, others are more vertical and rocky.
Living Nature
In addition, the water is clean. Rains that have fallen almost every afternoon since late May have revived nature. The green of the leaves is more alive, the birds sing louder and let themselves be seen more easily. On our kayak trips therefore we enjoy a much more attractive environment!
