It’s never too late to learn! Check out these pictures of the practical lessons of the course ‘T1 (Sports Technician, 1st. grade) in Kayak&Canoe.
They’re clustered per subject, starting with ‘Tecnique in Still Water’, in the ‘Parc de La Mitjana’ in Lleida. This subject gets most into the fundamental issue and every detail in every stage of paddling. Very fast and slender kayaks are used. They’re unstable as well!
From Lleida to Altafulla, for the sessions of ‘Technique of Sea Kayaking’. To me the discipline I knew least, but super interesting. It’s pure joy… The waves, the coast, the touch of adventure. The materials change, some manoeuvres too. We found a rather rough day, with wind force 6, at times you couldn’t even see the other students behind the waves! Thus, a valous experience. The weather plays an important role in this discipline.
Next subject; Technique in Kayak Polo. A more pedagogic and intense subject too, because security and rescue are integrated here, as well as self-reliance and especially the eskimo roll.
Both the aforementioned subject and ‘Tecnique in White Water’ took place in the slalom track in Sort and on the river Noguera Pallaresa. A discipline that seemed more familiar to me, for my experience in the ‘Parc del Segre’. Still I learnt a lot of new things, on the river in it’s natural state.
You may have noticed, that the people in the last group picture are other people than in the first group picture on the beach. I changed from group A to C, in order to find some rest and recover from a cold.
The subject ‘Organisation of Events of Initiation in Kayak&Canoe was developed with all the groups together. e organised a slalom competition for members of Kajak&Canoe Club ‘Segre Mitjà’ in Ponts.
It has been very interesting to know different people from different regions and to develop ourselves in different fields. I don’t know yet if regarding activities, material, equipment or organisation, but for sure these lessons will contribute positively to KayaksSummits!
