Third year of Bike Summer Camp – La Seu
For the third year running, we held the Bike Summer Camp in La Seu, making bike trips along the mountain tracks from the Segre Park where we always started, in all directions.
With a cosy group of ten children, we have pedaled to the River Casanoves, to Sant Serni de Tavèrnoles, Bell-Lloc, Arfa and to the Fire wall of Nabiners. When it was hot, we cooled down in irrigation canals, or under the sprinklers. Every day, we set out the route to the map.
The novelty: Bike Summer Camp – Organyà
At the request of a group of active parents in Organyà, the week after La Seu, we organised the first Bike Summer Camp in Organyà, with nine children. As the photos show, there are also many tracks and places to discover, such as The Route of Dolmens:
From ATB to Kayak
The climb to Fígols, a break next to St. Victor, before going down to the Mouth of River Perles, where we changed the bikes for the Kayaks! Here we continued paddling by kayak over Oliana’s Lake:
As in the camp of La Seu, in the web of roads though the garden area of Organyà, we hid labels with pictures, of a frame, a fork, a chain, brakes, inner tube…. the parts of the bike. Equipped with a map, a marker, and with the bikes, they have sought and identified them as subgroups.
Games and bathing in Les Basses de Fontanet
A five-person ski circuit, a seesaw, a windy path marked with strings, and ring-tilting…. And if you don’t get it right, they throw water at you.
So one learns fast and is refreshed at the same time!
The best way to refresh was at the end of the bike excursion: A bath in Fontanet Basses.
